Each year, Writers Group self-publishes an anthology of students' work on Amazon (see the "Archives" tab). Submissions for the 2023 anthology are open! This will be our fifth year publishing student writing here on campus, and we'd love for you to join us for this memorable tradition.
WHAT CAN I SUBMIT?
Any piece(s) of writing that you feel proud of! Submission genres can be included, but not limited to song lyrics, poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and dramatic writing. We strongly, strongly recommend you to use 12 point, Times New Roman or another Serif font when submitting. If you choose to use a different font, it will appear in a Serif font in the final anthology.
IS THERE A THEME?
Currently, we are not requiring a theme for pieces. You can submit any pieces you've written that speak to you. Our officer team will create a unifying concept for the final book that we feel best represents all the diverse submissions we receive.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Poetry
You can submit up to 3 poems, each one no longer than a page. If submitting multiple poems, you must keep them on different docs.
Fiction/Creative Nonfiction/Dramatic Writing
Submit up to 3 pieces, no more than 2500 words each. Please double space your submissions. Just like poetry submissions, you need to keep submissions on different docs.
OKAY, I'M READY TO SUBMIT!
The submission form can be accessed at this link: https://tinyurl.com/fhswriting2023. Submissions will close on May 20th, 11:59pm. The Lighthouse Magazine (a collaboration between Foothill and Amador) is also accepting submissions for its fourth issue. You can submit the same pieces for the Lighthouse and the anthology.
